Mississippi Diabetes Prevention Program (MSDPP) Stakeholders Engagement Model and Mission

Mississippi is poised to become the first state to achieve a stakeholder engagement model to scale a sustainable statewide diabetes prevention delivery ecosystem.  Diagnosed diabetes costs an estimated $3.4 billion in Mississippi each year. Mississippi is the only state with every county in the CDC’s “Diabetes Belt”.  However, Mississippi lacks Healthcare PAYERS reimbursing National DPP delivery, and the state is without adequate access to Program SUPPLIERS delivering the Medicare MDPP.

Thanks to the partners in the Mississippi Prevents Diabetes initiative comprehensive effort to rally diabetes prevention stakeholders is underway to confront the diabetes epidemic in Mississippi.
